Finish the Job
At the risk of sounding like I was mind-wiped by a rampaging pack of red/white/cerulean theocons (they're crawling all over coffee-liberal Boulder, after all), I gotta say, I'm not so sure this immediate pull-out of Iraq thing is such a good idea. I was against the war and marched like everyone else, but sometimes, I'm not so sure what we're doing is entirely wrong.... Or maybe I've been reading the blogs of too many anti-torture gay conservatives.
[Addenda: the worst of the "pull-out" gang are the Dems who voted for the war, who now claimed to have been mislead. Why the hell run for office, morons?]

I have to agree with you. I marched against the War, (once in ann arbor) but I have to hand it the TheoCons? I mean they did bring us there for the wrong reasons but in their pre war planning I don't think they really did care if Iraq fell into tribal chaos or if Jihadist militants came out of the hiding because an Iraq in strife for many years only makes a moral argument for staying, so we went their for immoral reasons, and now we have to stay for moral reasons.

Though I have to say I anyone who quotes Dick Cheney is a tard, including Sullivan. I usually enjoy listening to him on Bill Maher. Seriously though Cheney says that in public, in private he says, "freedom means... ah fuck freedom we have companies that need to get paid NOW!"

Well, what does "immediate pullout" mean anyway?
Since according to this story the Iraqi government wants the United States to conform to a timetable of withdrawal (of some sort. The quote is "through putting in place an immediate national program to rebuild the armed forces ... control the borders and the security situation"), it seems like withdrawal is definitely going to happen, it is just a matter of when, and how many troops stay at the edges of Iraq (20,000? 50,000? etc).
In a lot of ways the sound and fury of the weekend wasn't about very much...
well back in my day, we didn't have such emergency contraceptives as pullin' out!
too late for pullin out, we need some sort of RU-32.
